On a 3-4 star Kiboko Lodge Safari, you will explore the most popular overland routes of Southern Africa while staying in some of the best lodges along the way. Adventure travel doesn’t have to mean sleeping in a tent or roughing it! Now you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Take in some of the world’s most amazing scenery and wildlife by day before enjoying all the little luxuries of our quality lodges each night.
Too many Overland Adventure companies offer lodge tours in conjunction with their camping tours which leads to very basic accommodation on safari with shared bathrooms and meals taken in the campsites. Kiboko knows our seasoned travellers (the 40+) want to feel special which is why all our carefully selected 3-4 star lodges have private en-suite facilities and good beds to ensure you’re re-charged and ready to go for the following days adventure! All breakfasts & dinners are taken in the comforts of the lodges we stay in. These are usually buffet style with the opportunity to sample local African cuisine and the game meats on offer.
Our tour groups are kept relatively small with a maximum of 16 people. We tend to have a range of nationalities who are in the 40+ age group and are upbeat “young at heart” travelers. Our exciting tours are aimed at active individuals looking for an adventurous holiday.
Single travellers are always welcome. You will be charged a single supplement for your own room or we can pair you with a like-minded traveller of the same gender. Should no one be available for pairing a month prior to departure, you will be charged the single supplement.
Breakfast is included in the overall tour cost. Our excellent hotels and lodges offer a freshly prepared light continental or cooked breakfast guaranteed to satisfy all tastes.
Lunch is not included in the overall tour cost however you will be able to get supplies en route at local cafes and food outlets. When in remote areas, we stop at local supermarkets and the tour party can purchase whatever is needed for a picnic out in the bush.
Most dinners are included on all Lodge tours except when in the major towns or cities (Johannesburg / Cape Town / Swakopmund / Windhoek / Victoria Falls). When included they are usually a buffet style dinner serving tasty African food and a variety of local game meat for mains with starters and deserts also available. Some lodges offer set or a’ la carte menus. There are a variety of restaurants to enjoy in larger towns and cities allowing you some free time away from the group to sample the local cuisine. Your friendly guide will help with bookings.
Complementary Fresh Seasonal Fruit Baskets
Your guide will top up the fruit basket daily with fresh seasonal fruit subject to availability en route.

Ensuring where you stay on our Lodge Safaris is always clean, comfortable and charming is a priority. Our en route accomodation standards set Kiboko apart in the Overlanding Adventure industry. We pride ourselves on our excellent accomodation options from funky boutique hotels, romantic bush lodges to authentic rest-camps in National Parks.
All accomodation en route is carefully pre-selected for customer service, quality and scenic beauty. The glowing guest feedback about our 3-4 star accomodation on safari makes the exhaustive selection process worthwhile! Our unique lodge safaris feel like luxury.
All rooms have private en-suite facilities and bedding. NO SLEEPING BAGS required!
Please note our itineraries depend on variable local conditions. Travelling in Southern Africa can be unpredictable so pack a sense of adventure! Factors that can impact any safari include poor or closed roads, inclement weather including flooding, mechanical breakdowns, visa issues and many more. Never fear though, our experienced guides and office are well equipped to handle any emergency.
It is all part of your great African adventure!
