Hailing from Zimbabwe, our Guides are dedicated professionals. They have wide-ranging experience of the African bush and intimate knowledge of the countries we travel through. We employ our Guides full-time and retain their many years of Overland experience. They are all licensed by FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) and have Zimbabwean and South African guides licenses. Our Guides and assistants all have First Aid qualifications should any medical emergency arise
Kembo has always been interested in wildlife. After high school, he got a Professional Guides License as well as a diploma in Business Administration. He became a trusted Guide and moved briefly into banking before joining an Overland company in Zimbabwe and completing his FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa). Kembo joined Kiboko in 2008 and soon became one of our leading Guides. His wealth of knowledge and friendly persona makes him wonderful to travel with and it is no surprise that returning customers always request him. He is also involved in the marketing side of the company attending local travel shows and assists in content development of website and digital media.
Senior Guide, Misheck, started out as a kitchen boy in Zimbabwe and studied F&B management until he was offered a job at a Private Lodge outside of Harare where his love for the bush began. With a heavy-duty driving license, he joined a safari company and kept improving his skills as a Guide, working throughout Southern and Eastern Africa. Misheck joined Kiboko in 2007 and is now an integral part of our team. He consistently runs great tours and warm feedback from customers with his unruffled demeanor and wealth of knowledge.
Fauna & Flora fundi!
Collen was born in a Conservation Area in Zimbabwe. He began working for the Forestry Commission as a pump attendant at a watering hole. Spending so much time in the bush has given him a keen understanding of wildlife and he qualified as a Guide before working with several safari companies. Collen joined Kiboko in 2008 and has since achieved many licenses and qualifications. His attention to customers, courtesy and outgoing personality make him an asset to our company.
Lucky began work as a gardener for people who owned a Safari company in Victoria Falls and they saw his passion and hired him. He specialized in the adrenalin activities on offer at Victoria Falls and became an instructor in high wire gorge swings, abseiling and flying fox. He joined Kiboko in 2008 and completed his South African Guides license and now leads many of our tours. Lucky is always enthusiastic and has a lot of wit. He is a very popular member of our team and receives excellent tour reports month after month.
Kruger to Falls specialist
After completing school in 1998 Dumi worked as a shipping clerk in Kariba, a tourist town in Zimbabwe. Realising he was not cut out for the office, he started training as a guide with Landela Safaris a reputable Zimbabwean company and has never looked back. He has guided for a number of companies including being an abseil instructor in Victoria falls. He joined Kiboko in 2011, his expertise and professionalism makes him one of our leading guides and a Kruger to Falls specialist.
Master chef & Botswana specialist guide
Following in his brother Kembo’s footsteps, Richard joined Kiboko in 2010 as a safari assistant and soon became a master chef. He has a diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Management and is qualified as a field guide. He is well on his way to being a full Guide and his upbeat nature and flair in the “camp” kitchen adds value to any tour. Specializes in guiding the Botswana Adventure.
A professional chef, Mzingeli has worked for a number of upmarket hotels including the popular Elephant Hills hotel in Victoria falls. His passion for travel saw him render his expertise to a number of tour companies before joining Kiboko in 2016. He is a valuable member of our team and clients always marvel at what he manages to create in his bush kitchen – from freshly baked breads to his signature Bobotie.
Having joined Kiboko as a camp assistant in 2012, Misheck has mastered the art of bush cuisine and his specialty is the versatile (cast iron) potjie pot. His slow cooked meals and freshly baked beer/corn bread are to die for.
Mandla joined Kiboko in 2013 as a camp assistant. His great enthusiasm had him master the art of camp cooking in no time at all. Specializing in nutritious, traditional meals including a typical South African braai he is a true advertisement for what to expect at meal time on a camping safari!
Kumoyo hails from Livingstone in Zambia. He joined Kiboko way back in 2000 and over the years he has mastered the art of “bush cuisine” in his own specific way. His amazing skills around a fire and his winning personality and eagerness to help makes Kumoyo a joy to be with on tour.
